TransLink Community Transit Volunteer Online Training Project

Find Gaps

Before launching the project, we conducted a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) to evaluate the current training needs of Community Transit Volunteers and identify any gaps in their skills. This assessment helped us to design a training program that effectively addresses the needs of our volunteers and enhances their skills and knowledge.

Define the Scope

To define the scope of the project, we involved all stakeholders to ensure that the learning goals, duration, cost, and participants were clearly defined. This collaborative approach ensured that everyone’s needs and expectations were considered and helped us develop a comprehensive project plan.

Design and Deploy Learning Management System (LMS)

We developed an online training platform for our volunteers using Moodle and deployed it on our local server. This platform provides volunteers with a user-friendly interface and easy access to training materials, allowing them to complete the course at their own pace. By utilizing Moodle, we have created a robust and effective online training system that enhances the skills and knowledge of our volunteers.

Design Learning Content

We have designed several courses for Community Transit Volunteers, including orientation for new volunteers and courses to explore SkyTrain stations. These courses provide volunteers with the knowledge and skills to fulfill their roles effectively and provide excellent customer service.

Delivery and Feedback

We have delivered our LMS to our customers and are currently collecting feedback from them to improve the platform. By listening to our customers’ suggestions and critiques, we can make necessary adjustments to enhance their experience and better meet their needs.
